We are living in a drastically changing environment.  Under these circumstances, there are many things that parents can or should do for their children to fully bloom their abilities and live an enjoyable life.  At Oyanokai, parents can learn the right way to deal and be involved with their children at any stage of the child-rearing, and also grow themselves to support their children in the adequate way, no matter what difficulties might happen.

The following are some important tips as parents.  Being aware of them at all times, you can help make your children extend their own goodness.

How to involve with your child in different stages of development

Infants (From the time of birth to age 6)

Parents have a great impact on children’s peaceful and stable mind.

Time passes rapidly when children grow from birth to the age 6.  It is an important period for children to build a foundation of life.  Thoughtfulness for others will be fostered in children’s mind through heartfelt conversations between their parents.  As we learn the right kokoro as parents needed at this period through the Shinji, we can achieve a great progress as parents and as a human being as well.

Children from age 6 to 15 (Minorinotsudoi)

Learn the teachings together with your children to strengthen the ties.

By the age 15, children are greatly influenced by their parents.  In other words, how the children grow depends on how their parents live.  So learn together, strengthen the bond of your kokoro.  As it deepens, kokoro of children will grow calm and peaceful, preparing for stages to bloom their unmei beginning at age 15.  Parents can attain the right connection with their children through the teachings based on Shinji.

The unmarried from ages 15 to 30 (Yukinokai)

Respect your child as an independent adult.

Kami teaches us that a child from ages 15 and above is seen as an adult by Kami.  Parents need to be aware of this principle, and treat your child as an independent human being.  At Oyanokai, we learn through the Shinji on how parents should act and do to be involved with their child in the right way to support, and to bring out the confidence within your child to take a lively part in the society.

As for single-parents, try not to play both roles, but focus on what you should do as either the father or the mother.
