For First-Time Visitors

Also, if you are coming to worship, attend a ceremony, or visit the grave, please check the following.

Worship

There are shrines where the Spirit of Ōyamanezunomikoto resides at Shinsōuhonbu, Hikari no Sato, and Hikari no Yakata throughout the country. Each has a shinden (place for worship), and a place designated to pay respect for the hotoke (the deceased and ancestors).

When praying to Kami, we ask that you tell Kami your thoughts, purify your heart, and pray for peaceful days. It brings out the best in you and allows you to live a bright and positive life.
When we greet the hotoke, we convey through Kami how we are living a healthy life. As a result, the souls of the deceased and ancestors will be stabilized, and your own heart will also be surrounded by a sense of security. The deceased and ancestors are not the objects of asking for help, so please express your gratitude to them.

Through the power of Ōyamanezunomikoto, human thoughts reach Kami and hotoke. Shinden (place of worship) is the most precious place where the power of Kami dwells, so please worship with full respect.

*Please check the locations from the list of Hikari no Yakata throughout Japan.
