Summary of the Shinji (August 29, 2020) from Kyōshu Seishisha Tomomarukō Sensei

I want you to strive to become a person who can experience the protection through the power of Kibō no Michi. A person who experiences this has the strong conviction to abide by the path—the teachings of Kami, Hotoke and Hito no Michi. Without this conviction, it is hard to maintain good alliance with other people. Not only that, the kokoro becomes unstable, and your unmei given from Kami—your strengths and abilities—will not be surfaced. Instead, you will be at the mercy of your personality driven by your jittai and create problems and worries.

To learn the teachings of Kami is a necessity to heighten your conviction to abide by the path. As you become one with the teachings, you will highly stay on the path and hence receive the protection through Kibō no Michi. If you abide by the path, you are promised to live your life without any regret or remorse; leading you to achieve kaiun at the end of your life. This is the era we live today. And this can be done because if you abide by the teachings, your unmei—your presence and a ‘one of a kind’ character will shine to be shared to the rest of the world, making it possible for your goodness to influence positively to the rest of us.

This Shinji is shown to prepare us for the upcoming Kōju Shinja Sanpaiji beginning in September. If you can grasp the kokoro being taught in this Shinji, you will be without worries, sufferings or confusion. Your kokoro will be bright and shining with a sense of gratitude awaiting to be expressed to Kami during Kōju Shinja Sanpaiji.

The first paragraph shows the realization—an awareness needed to practice the teachings. This is something to be reflected especially if you are having doubts and worries at the moment. And it is an awareness that one must have to begin with.

Have the kokoro (deep understanding; perception) to read and see the principles behind the teachings.
As Kami sees, you are reading the teachings merely as words.
That is why your kokoro is not deeply moved, not seeing the need to practice the teachings.

It will not become your strength to abide by the path if you keep perceiving it this way.

First thing needed is the awareness and the conscience to live by the teachings. Kami showed us to have the kokoro (deep understanding; perception) to read and see the principles behind the teachings. This kokoro is a deep understanding. A person with a deep understanding has reached a state where the teachings of Kami has become the mainstay of how they live.
As the sun rises in the east and sets to the west, principles are fundamental truths that never change. Therefore, if you want results, you have to make the right effort. If you want to be loved, you need to become a person who can give love to people. So the question asked here is; Do you truly have the understanding of the principles of life?
Studying the teachings of Kami superficially will not do anything good. For instance, you learn to live with love, but if you are constantly arguing with your family, not appreciating the food prepared for you and just complaining, that is not living with a kokoro of love. Kami pointed out, that you are reading the teachings merely as words. That is why your kokoro is not deeply moved, not seeing the need to practice the teachings. Practice comes from deep down your heart—meaning that unless you deeply see the need to practice, it will not be expressed in your way of life, thus not experiencing the result of living by the teachings. You need to see the truth behind the teachings and practice it. If the teachings do not become part of you, it will not become your strength to abide by the path and the protection through Kibō no Michi will not be experienced.

The next part contains three understandings. They are shown in sequential steps. Let us begin with the first of the three.

This is what you must do now to experience the protection through Kibō no Michi.
When worries and confusion arise, the first thing to do is to reflect how you have lived, and how your kokoro has been until today.
You will find a kokoro that has gone off the path, and reflecting your kokoro brings realization.

Kami has shown us what is needed now to experience the protection through Kibō no Michi. When you run into problems and don’t know which way to go, the first thing to do is to reflect how you have lived, and how your kokoro has been until today. Life is an accumulation of each day, so it is the importance to reflect how you were in the past, and how it led to your way of living today. And in doing so, Kami insists that there must be a kokoro that has gone off the path. How you live each day has a lot to do with the problems you run into. So therefore, to reflect and realize are what help you find the light at the end of the tunnel. Hence it is important that we find our points of improvement based on the way of life being taught through the teachings.

Next is the second of the understanding.

Learn the basic principles of the kokoro and incorporate the problem with the principles of how family should be.
Kigan in the morning and evening about the kokoro you realize so that your kokoro to abide by the principles will continue.

This is what you should practice right away. To learn the basic principles of the kokoro and incorporate the problem with the principles of how family should be is to think based on the Six Elements of Happiness (*)—family, health, work, etc.  To learn this, the best book to read is “The Basic Principles—Family, Health and Work” published from Shinji Kyōkai. It is filled with Shinji that were revealed for Shinja Kokoro no Moto (classes for the basic principles). Recapture the principles behind the Six Elements of Happiness and make the effort to reach the state of how family should be.
As you reflect yourself based on the basic principles, you start to see what you were lacking and find out the reason why things are not going well. Once you start seeing this, you will understand the reason to your problems and worries and ask Kami for your kokoro to follow and abide by the teachings. You can even ask Kami for the strength to face the worries or ask not to be overwhelmed by your anxieties. This is to kigan in the morning and evening about the kokoro to abide by the principles will continue. And this is the correct kigan that will reach Kami.

Next is the third understanding.

The movement of your kokoro will gradually anchor and you will start to see what must be done now.
Here, the kokoro of all people will be protected in the hands of Kami and allow themselves to walk a life merged with their unmei.

When you kigan correctly, your kokoro will gradually anchor.  Without even knowing, under the protection of Shinkon, your kokoro will gradually gain strength and become bright. You will have less sighs and your everyday will be more shining bright. This is experienced because your kokoro gradually anchors.
Also, you will start to see what must be done now. In other words, you will realize what needs to be revised and modified about your kokoro. As you start to see your correction points and the things you weren’t able to see, continue to kigan to elevate yourself.  Because the more you amend yourself to improve, you will be protected even more. You will be able to stay within your parameters, know your role, your position and live. This process is to bring you back on track to a life merged with your unmei.

Last phrase is the universal truth—a principle.

As you live the truth with the principles, miracles will occur; here exists a kokoro of a person experiencing salvation.

To live the truth with the principles is to live the here and now with the principles—to analyze and think about each situation occurring based on the teachings. As you do this and continue to make the effort to improve yourself, miracles will occur. ‘Miracles’ that Kami reveals are not in forms. The first thing you will experience is the changes in your kokoro; your kokoro will be brighter and stronger that you will not be consumed by all the surrounding factors, and just flow along with the changes and continue to carry on. Life has its ups and downs. But no matter what happens, every bit of bitterness becomes an invaluable experience and a strength to move on. So therefore, your kokoro changes, and what follows is the true miracle.

It is so important to become a person who can live the truth with the principles. You will be creative to live on a budget if your income is on the low side at the moment. You will lay down and rest if you are not feeling well. These are absolutely common sense, but so important yet hard to practice. When you look at the world, there are so many who live without principles, spreading complaints and blaming others for the problems of the world. Live with dignity. Without it, the protection through Kibō no Michi will not be experienced.

Read the Shinji and see the principles behind the teachings of Kami, and take it in as your way of life. This will help you raise your integrity and help you become a person who can receive the light of protection from Kami through Kibō no Michi. You will experience salvation without fail.

(*) Six Elements of Happiness: Kami shows the elements of happiness as human beings and this is one of the important basic principles of life. Happiness is to be blessed with a husband or wife, blessed with sons and daughters, good health, occupation, livelihood and hope. When the husband and wife are in good relationship, the parents and the children will be in good relationship. When the family is in good terms, your health will be good, and your determination to work hard will not wither. You will be able to contribute to society, protected with a good living and live life with hopes and dreams.
