This Shinji today, teaches us about health.
Having learned the teachings, the kokoro (life) of the human being that is supported by the principles is good health personified.
Be aware that through the arbitraries of knowledge, it is called an illness, a name of a disease.
A person who learns the teachings, and lives based on the right path can live a healthy life. This is an important awareness to live a true healthy life. A human being that is supported by the principles; in other words, if you are conscious about living by the teachings in your daily life, your feelings remain calm and you can spend each day without having any worries about health issues.
For instance, human beings are made to move during the day time by nature. But the lifestyle our society promotes us today is without a distinction between day and night. But to live a healthy life, it is better to wake up early and rest early, consume a balanced, healthy diet, rest when you are tired, and not to go overboard all the time. These are just a common sense in living a healthy life.
And the most important factor in living a healthy life is the stableness of your kokoro. Maintaining a stable, healthy kokoro (mind) is effective in being healthy. Even if you do have chronic conditions, or any disabilities, as long as your kokoro is stable, able to live life on the right path, you can live a healthy life. Having a healthy kokoro (mind) is the key to a “healthy life.” As Kami said in the Shinji; Be aware that through the arbitraries of knowledge, it is called an illness, a name of a disease—it is the role of the physicians to name the disease and call it an illness and give you the right treatment to all the symptoms you may have. But you have to realize that the one thing to pursue is a healthy kokoro.

To the Shinja
Bodily changes occur daily.
Before calling it an illness, adjust the balance of your kokoro.
The more an awareness is gained from the teachings, human beings willingly adjust their emotions to the environment and live.
They accept the changes of an era with their kokoro, adapt to the environment and live.
This is the kokoro that is truly healthy.
As long as you live, there are days when you would feel great, or days when you aren’t feeling so well. Perhaps there might be days when you don’t have much appetite. Bodily changes occur on a daily basis. And as you age, the body ages too. This is a natural process. So therefore, it is important not to be too nervous about the daily modulation of your physical conditions.
Also, human beings have inborn vitality, resistivity, immunity and healing power. And if you are conscious about living your life with the teachings, your kokoro will be healthy and therefore it naturally brings out those inborn power from within. And when those powers are at work, you may find yourself symptom and pain free at most times.

That is why Kami said; Before calling it an illness, adjust the balance of your kokoro. To adjust the balance of your kokoro is to align your thoughts with the principles. If you have been feeling irritated, be aware of those feelings and be conscious to take your time with things. Or if you have been feeling a little anxious about things, kigan and just try to go with the flow.
As Kami said; The more an awareness is gained from the teachings, human beings willingly adjust their emotions to the environment and live—the more you learn the teachings, you become aware of your shortcomings and realize how important it is not to always demand everything around you to change, but you could also make some adjustments to flow with the environment around you.
For example, if the service at a recent visit to a restaurant was horrible, it is your choice to be upset about it. But how long does a restaurant with bad services last anyway? That is not your problem, but their problem. Minding your business and looking at it this way makes it simple and less stressful on your mind. And this helps you to have a healthier kokoro.
Time also changes along with the circumstances. That is why it is needed to accept the changes of an era with their kokoro, adapt to the environment and live. This is a healthy kokoro.
Aging is one of the many changes in life. And if you can accept and understand that you will see changes in your health as you age, your health conditions will not take a downfall and become very ill. This is reflected on the next one phrase as Kami said; This is the kokoro that is truly healthy. True health is beyond our understandings of medicine and it is definitely achieved by having the awareness to live with the teachings.

Accept the changes in your physical condition and strive each day to take care of the kokoro.
Do not forget the morning and evening kigan; the kokoro (life) of the human being who entrusts their thoughts and feelings (life) to Kami is able to cope with the changes.
Learn the teachings with family members; the kokoro (life) of the human being is protected in a home where the kokoro (unmei) come together through the principles.
Changes in physical conditions happen to every one of us. That is why, it is important to strive each day to take care of the kokoro. Not just taking care of the physical body, but taking care of the kokoro is emphasized here. And to learn the teachings and trying to practice them with kigan is the way to take care of the kokoro. The Shinji mentions; Do not forget the morning and evening kigan. In the morning, you ask Kami for a kokoro to spend the day with calmness. And in the evening, you either give your gratitude to have been able to spend that day with calmness. Otherwise, reflect and let go of the bad feelings to start the next day with a fresh feeling.
People who entrust their thoughts and feelings (life) to Kami are able to cope with the changes—they are able to deal things better because the kokoro is not moved from one side to another. And what we mean by coping with changes is that you will not be overwhelmed by people’s words and actions. For instance, if your pay got lowered, you will adjust your life to it. If you got a raise, you will probably make small adjustments accordingly—what’s important is to live according to the circumstances. If you are overwhelmed and react greatly to every bits of changes in life, there is no way your kokoro will handle changes life may bring.
Remember the basis of life exists in the family—at home.  And as Kami said; Learn the teachings with family members; the kokoro (life) of the human being is protected in a home where the kokoro (unmei) come together through the principles. Each family member must acquire the teachings and take them into their way of life, know their respective roles, and be aware of the important kokoro in their various life stages.

When your physical condition deteriorates and the name of the disease is given, understand that this is the time to attain true health and reflect on the life you have lived.
The teachings will draw out your life (the will to live) and with the support of your family, medical care and treatment will be effective.
If there comes a situation when your physical condition deteriorates and the name of the disease is given, take this as an opportunity to attain true health and reflect on the life you have lived. Finding a good physician who understands your situation to give the right treatment is important, but that is only half of the picture. The other half is the effort you must make to reflect your kokoro and make any corrections to live the right way. And if you live by the teachings (the right way), the Shinji was shown that the teachings will draw out your life (the will to live) and with the support of your family, medical care and treatment will be effective.  In other words, the teachings will help your kokoro become stable and calm, which then would help your inborn resistivity, immunity and other powers to surface. And as a result, your life merged with your unmei will help you live a healthy life.
